The Red Bull (The Last Unicorn)
This is the one in this group that I'm most proud of. The idea here was not so much to make a realistic bull as to make a stylized outfit evoking the feel of the Red Bull.
The fabric flames--hand cut!--were sewn down to a poncho made of a round table cloth. This was laid over a set of foam shoulder pads, with pockets hiding batteries for four strings of red and orange Christmas lights. The whole thing covers a red shirt and sweat pants.

Making the Mask and Hooves
I'd never made a leather mask before, and it was surprisingly easy. I had originally planned on making a separate set of horns, but decided they worked just as well coming off the mask. The airbrush was the real sticking point--I don't think I'll ever like the weird way it handles. I had to get some help making the highlights and shadows come out even.
The hooves are made of work gloves covered in duct tape and paper mache. They didn't work out as well as I wanted--in addition to impeding Ben's manual dexterity (though we left the bottom parts un-paper-mache'd so he could still move his thumbs), they cracked along the edges.
