Back to the Future (2016)
If I'm going to dress as a time machine...well, everyone does the TARDIS. So I went for something different.
Since I knew I'd need a big silver dress to start with, I hauled out my wedding gown, which happened to be silver. Since it seemed to have shrunk (ahem) since the wedding, I opened the back and re-designed it as a pinafore, adding a lighted bustle to fill in the gap. The rest is history. Or foreshadowing?
The gullwing doors are made of silver cardboard and lift up with my arms. The fascinator is made of a hubcap from a toy car, and lit with fiber optics.

I programmed the Flux Capacitor using an Arduino Uno microcontroller. |

My husband joined me as Marty McFly, and later our son as Doc Brown.
